Because the apocalypse unexpectedly turned out to be a sunny, happy event, it was mostly only the pessimists who complained.
“Dammit, I thought there would be more wind,” grumped Joshua, as he stared at this kite, lying limply on the ground.
However, sunny though the apocalypse was, it was also a pleasantly breezy day, just right for lovely, controlled flying of kites, and for swirling autumn leaves around, but not so blustery as to muss up your hair.
Wish it would apocalypse more often.
Having a wonderful apocalypse. Wish you were here.
Wilford’s grandmother would not stop going on and on about the lovely horsemen she met during the Apocolypse. “Such nice manners,” she said, “and not too busy to sit a spell and try my lemon custard tarts.”
Ah, yes, I remember the hedonistic days of the apocalypse. Thanks for the postcard. Is it really as sunny as the picture looks?
Pam, you should make that last comment a sentence. I can all too easily imagine Famine nibbling fastidiously on his lemon custard tart.
I’ll try ...
Is the extra full-stop the trouble? I say break the rules and be damned! After all, amazingly, Keith is not here. He must be asleep. No. That doesn’t sound right.
Please tell me you’ve all read “Good Omens” maybe then pam could write in an entrance for Things Not Working Properly Even After You’ve Given Them a Good Thumping. I think he’d really appreciate that.
“Good Omens”! Yes! Though (one set of) the horsemen were the good guys, I could particularly relate to the angel and the demon in their symbiotic relationship of necessity. An apt analogy in general for working in civil service.
I have indeed read “Good Omens” and now you’ve made me want to go and read it again.
So, have you read “Thief of Time”? I’m sure you’d love to meet the Fifth Horseman.
I havent! But I would love to read something that had the same humor as Good Omens. I can find very few books out there like that. Thanks!
Well, this is your lucky day. Thief of Time is written by the co-author of Good Omens, Terry Pratchett. He’s written a lot of books, including some that feature Death (Mort, Reaper Man, etc).
You’re welcome!
